Excellency,
As representatives of human rights organisations, civil society and
solidarity groups from Germany, we are writing to ask you and all
Members of the Security Council to take the necessary measures
for a fair and timely peace settlement in Western Sahara!
In the run-up to the UN Security Council vote on the renewal of the
MINURSO mandate, this is of particular relevance: The faltering
political process of decolonisation of Western Sahara must be set in
motion as soon as possible, to put an end to Morocco’s illegal
occupation and reach a peaceful solution to the conflict, in
accordance with the right of the Sahrawi people to selfdetermination.
